| SUMMARY OF SERVICES | FINANCE DEPARTMENT | |

|
| Reporting to the City Administration, the Finance Department serves the Mayor, City Commission and City Administration as Financial Manager, City and CRA Treasurer, Budget Officer, Accounting Manager and Purchasing/Contract Administrator. The Finance Department develops and implements financial and accounting policies and procedures. The department also provides a sound accounting system for protecting the City's assets by recording and reporting financial transactions in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles, Government Accounting Standards Board Pronouncements and other legally mandated standards. The Finance Department maintains the City's general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash receipts and investments and provides monthly statements to the operating departments and other reports as requested. The Finance Director and his/her staff assist the Mayor and City Administration in the preparation, implementation and monitoring of the City's annual operating budget. At year-end, this department prepares the City's annual financial statements for audit by the City's Independent Certified Public Accountants and publishes the City's Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR). |
