Major financial corporate HQ set to relocate to WPB

Project "Listen" heading to WPB - 100 new jobs

We know...what the heck is "Project Listen?"

First of all...it's 100 new high paying jobs for our city.

It's also the secret West Palm Beach Office of Economic Development code name given to a major effort to lure a significant financial sector HQ from New York to WPB.

And it's about to happen!

When companies invoke a state law that gives them anonymity, they get code names.

This week the city votes to approve an incentive package of $70,000 over five years to close the deal.

Not a bad deal!

Only $70,000 and getting 100 jobs and a high profile financial corporate headquarters!

INSIDER EXCLUSIVE THREE PART SERIES:

Helping WPB's Homeless

Beginning in May, the INSIDER began highlighting some of the programs the city has to help the homeless in our city.

Today we wrap up our three part series by highlighting WPB's

Police department outreach.

The West Palm Beach Police Department's Community Response Team works with several local agencies to assist homeless in our city.  Officers partner with the HOT Team (Homeless Outreach Team) and visit homeless men and women on a daily basis.

Officers frequently are on a first name basis with members of the homeless community and are often the first to discover an individual may be in need of, or eligible for assistance from Veteran Affairs, food stamps, disability, etc.

Previous editions highlighted:

The Housing First Program

The Homeward Bound Program

Meanwhile...in case you missed it:

West Palm PD Officer Seth Buxton was spotted earlier this week giving a member of the homeless community some shoes and clothes.
